AMARILLO APPLICANTS ARE INCLUDED IN $500,000 HIRING DISCRIMINATION SETTLEMENT

A hiring discrimination settlement announced Tuesday includes BirchStone Management’s Amarillo location.

The Dallas based logistics company agreed to provide $55,000 to one applicant and $445,000 for a fund benefiting other affected women.

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission said its investigation found that qualified women were rejected because of their sex while men with similar or fewer qualifications were hired. Its findings covered facilities in Amarillo, Houston and 3 other cities.

Women denied pallet repairer jobs because of their sex between May 15, 2020 and July 31, 2025 can contact the settlement administrator at (877) 788 4952 about a claim.

The agreement also requires hiring policy changes, staff training, record keeping reviews and reporting to the federal agency for 2 years.
