AMARILLO WATER-BILL REVIEW LEAVES A MAJOR QUESTION OPEN

AMARILLO — An outside review found that more than 99% of utility-billing lines tested matched the city’s rate ordinance, according to NewsChannel 10’s report on Tuesday’s discussion.

That finding does not establish whether meters measured water use accurately. NewGen Strategies & Solutions did not remove or test meters and reached no conclusion about meter accuracy. The review covered bills from April 6 through August 31, leaving residents’ concerns about unusually high usage readings unresolved.
