CACTUS THEATER CELEBRATES WEST TEXAS MUSIC WITH FRIDAY NIGHT CONCERT

Lubbock’s Cactus Theater will host Jay Boy Adams, The Friends Band and Zenobia tonight, Friday, October 9, for a concert celebrating the newest West Texas Walk of Fame inductees.

Doors open at 6:50 p.m., with the performance beginning at 7:30 p.m. The theater is at 1812 Buddy Holly Avenue.

The show follows the previous evening’s Walk of Fame celebration and will include a salute to the 2026 class, along with special guests.

Adams and Zenobia began their musical partnership after meeting in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Their performances combine blues, soul and Americana, with slide guitar, keyboards and vocal harmonies.

The Friends Band includes David Terry, Woody Key, Steve Meador and RB Blackstone. Together, the musicians have performed in Texas, Santa Fe, New York, Nashville and Europe.

Reserved floor and standard balcony tickets are listed at $25. Box seats, which include concessions, are listed at $50.

For residents looking beyond Friday football, the concert offers an evening of live music tied to West Texas artists and the region’s musical history. The scheduled show runs until 9:30 p.m.
