FROM THE STUDIO TO THE STAGE: JRO ROCKETS RECORDS AND PERFORMS “STAND ON BUSINESS” WITH TEC IN ONE DAY
LUBBOCK, Texas — Lubbock artist Jro Rockets turned TEC’s weekend visit into a major career moment after becoming the only artist to record and perform a new song with the Baton Rouge rapper while he was in town.
The new collaboration is titled “Stand on Business” by Jro featuring TEC.
TEC performed at A’Jay’s Bar & Grill, located at 701 E. 50th Street, on Saturday, September 26. His visit continued Sunday with “Sunday Funday TEC Part 2.”
During TEC’s second day in Lubbock, Jro connected with him and the two artists recorded “Stand on Business.” Just hours after creating the record, Jro and TEC performed it together in front of the crowd that same night.
The quick turnaround made the collaboration stand out. The artists did not arrive with a previously completed song. They created the record in Lubbock and took it directly from the studio to the stage in one day.
Jro Rockets, who releases music under the name 806JRO, has been steadily building his catalog. His releases include the 2024 album Rocket World Vol. 1, the 2025 EP Rich Before the Fame and songs such as “Texas Flow,” “Risk Taker,” “What Ya Know” and “Really Lit” featuring Lil Cj Casino. His 2026 album Me vs Me includes songs such as “Payout,” “Persona,” “No Time for That” and “5am in Dallas Freestyle.”
TEC has spent more than a decade building his name in Baton Rouge hip hop. He helped establish the Spider Nation movement alongside Maine Musik and is known for songs including “Go Crazy,” “Call on Me” and “Marley Vibez” featuring Money Man. His catalog also includes collaborations with Fredo Bang, Boosie Badazz, Too $hort and OMB Peezy.
For Jro, the weekend became much more than an opportunity to meet a nationally recognized artist. He left with a completed collaboration, performed alongside TEC and represented Lubbock as the only artist to record and perform a new song with TEC during his visit.
An official release date for “Stand on Business” by Jro featuring TEC has not yet been announced.
