Lubbock’s Appointments Advisory Board is scheduled to meet Monday, November 2, at 11:30 a.m. at Citizens Tower, 1314 Avenue K, in second floor conference rooms 201A/B. Its posted agenda includes recommendations for positions on boards that help shape housing, development, arts and neighborhood decisions. The list includes the Building Board of Appeals, Housing Finance Corporation, Cultural Arts Grants Review Standing Subcommittee and Zoning Board of Adjustment. Members also will consider appointments involving community development, historic preservation and tax increment financing districts. These are scheduled considerations, not announcements that particular applicants have already been selected. The agenda also calls for an update on appointments City Council made during October.
Beyond filling seats, the board plans to discuss recruiting and participation methods for board service, its recommendation process and the 2027 meeting calendar. Residents interested in serving can use the discussion to understand how applicants move through the process and contact the City Secretary’s Office about available opportunities.
