LUBBOCK NATIVE TRAVIS GARLAND ADVANCES TO THE AMERICA’S GOT TALENT SEMIFINALS

Lubbock singer Travis Garland is moving on after the final live quarterfinal Tuesday night. Garland performed Ariana Grande’s Dangerous Woman and finished among three acts advanced by public vote. Cesar Dias and Young and Strange also moved forward, while the dance and robotics group Unitree received a Golden Buzzer and went directly to the finals.

Garland first won over the judges with Aerosmith’s Dream On. His path began in Lubbock church, choir and theater programs before he joined the boy band NLT and performed on Dancing with the Stars. On September 15, he joins 11 other semifinalists competing for viewer votes. Results come September 16, giving West Texans at least one more national stage for the hometown story.
