LUBBOCK STUDENT CROWNED WAYLAND HOMECOMING KING

PLAINVIEW — Jarrett Lynch, a junior piano-performance major from Lubbock, was crowned Wayland Baptist University’s 2026 Homecoming king during Saturday’s football game.

Jazmin Ortega, a senior choral-music-education major from Odessa, was crowned queen. Both represented the School of Creative Arts and were selected from a court of 15 students representing academic schools and student organizations. Wayland says this year’s festivities marked its return to a fall Homecoming celebration, bringing student traditions back into football season.
