LUBBOCK’S SATURDAY CANCER WALK WILL HELP A NEWLY DIAGNOSED NEIGHBOR AT MAE SIMMONS LAKE

Lubbock residents can show support for neighbors facing cancer Saturday, October 10, when a community breast cancer walk takes place at Mae Simmons Lake.

The event is scheduled from 7 to 11 a.m. at 2302 Oak Avenue. Gant Man Development is organizing the gathering, which includes plans to provide support to a newly diagnosed cancer patient.

Individual walker registration is listed at $10. A team of 10 can register for $50, while a team of 20 is $75. Those group prices give relatives, coworkers and friends an option to participate together.

Event shirts are priced separately. Adult sizes through XL are listed at $20, sizes 2XL and larger at $25, and youth shirts at $15. Vendor registration is listed at $25.

Organizers are encouraging residents to register and join the walk. For families preparing tonight, the event begins early Saturday morning, with activities scheduled across the 4 hour window.

The gathering brings breast cancer awareness into an East Lubbock community setting and offers a way to support a neighbor currently facing a diagnosis.
