MOTHER TURNS TO THE 806 FOR HELP AFFORDING LEGAL FIGHT TO BE PART OF HER SON’S LIFE

Faith Campbell is asking the 806 community for help covering legal expenses in a pending custody case involving her 3 year old son.

Campbell says she needs $1,800 for her next attorney payment and has had limited contact with her child since November 2024. According to her fundraiser, no final custody order is in place, and she is awaiting a second mediation session.

“I’ve missed hugs, conversations, milestones, ordinary days, and memories I’ll never be able to get back,” Campbell wrote.

Following the response to her appeal, Campbell shared an update expressing hope that the attention could help her see her son sooner.

“Even though we’re waiting on court this could RUSH me into seeing my son,” she said, pointing to the number of comments she received.

Campbell also said she contacted police and that her attorney advised her to contact Child Protective Services immediately. Her update did not explain what prompted that advice or indicate whether CPS had been contacted or opened an investigation.

“The court system has to be fixed!” Campbell said. “Thank you soo much!!”

Her hope for an earlier reunion does not establish that a hearing, visitation arrangement or custody decision has changed.

Campbell says donations will support attorney fees and expenses associated with her case. Her appeal identifies her attorney as Malinda Clawson Standefer in Lubbock and says supporters can contact the office about contributing directly toward her legal fees.

She emphasized that she is seeking help presenting her case, rather than asking the public to decide custody or attack the child’s father.

“I’m not asking Facebook or strangers on the internet to decide our custody case,” she wrote.

Those unable to contribute are asked to share her appeal.

This report reflects Campbell’s account. Court records and a response from the other parent were not provided, and the reasons for the current custody arrangement have not been independently established.

The child’s name is withheld because he is a minor.
