Motley County Held Valley to 28 in Ranked Win

Motley County stayed unbeaten Friday by defeating Valley 54 to 28 in a meeting between 2 of the area’s highest ranked six man football teams.
The No. 2 Matadors hosted a No. 3 Valley team that had been averaging more than 50 points per game. Motley County’s defense held the Patriots well below that scoring pace.
Both teams dealt with penalties before the Matadors opened the scoring with a touchdown run. Motley County maintained its advantage and finished with a 26 point victory.
That result added to a season in which the Matadors have averaged 58 points while holding opponents to 20. After an early playoff exit last season, the team enters the final stretch with a postseason opportunity ahead.
Next is a road district game at Chillicothe. The Eagles are 3 and 5 overall and 1 and 2 in district after losing 52 to 6 at Paducah.
Coach Mike Bigham’s team still has Paducah on its schedule after Chillicothe. Friday’s win kept the Matadors unbeaten with those remaining district games to be played.
