Science Spectrum Offers Free Candy, Paid Carnival Fun
Written by THE806ER STAFF-KW · Filed October 26, 2026

Lubbock families can trick or treat in the Science Spectrum lobby for free Friday while a larger Halloween carnival takes place inside the museum.
The Spooky Science Carnival runs October 30 from 5 to 9 p.m. Museum activities are included with standard admission: $10 for adults and $8 for children and seniors. Children 2 and younger are free.
The program includes carnival games with prizes, live animal displays, science experiments, crafts, inflatables and access to the museum exhibits. Costume contests are scheduled for 7 p.m.
Spooky Scientist shows are listed for 5:30, 6:15, 7:45 and 8:30 p.m. The event is recommended for families with children up to age 12, and organizers ask visitors to avoid scary costumes.
The distinction matters for families planning a visit: lobby candy stops are free, while entering the museum carnival requires admission.
The carnival continues until 9 p.m. Friday. The museum calls the event a Halloween celebration built around science demonstrations and games.
