Texas Tech Can Match a School Home Winning Record Against Arizona

Texas Tech returns to Lubbock on Saturday with a chance to match the longest home winning streak in program history. The Red Raiders have won 12 straight at home, one short of the record set from 1939 through 1942.

No. 13 Tech hosts No. 22 Arizona at 11 a.m. at Galaxy Stadium. ESPN will carry the game. Both teams enter with six wins, one loss and a conference record of three wins and one loss.

The Red Raiders are coming off their first defeat of the season at Cincinnati. The defeat also moved Tech down in the national rankings and ended nine consecutive conference victories.

Arizona gives Tech another ranked opponent immediately after that setback. The Wildcats are making their first visit to Lubbock since 1989, when the Red Raiders won 24 to 14.

Tech leads the overall series with 27 wins, five losses and two ties. Saturday begins a stretch with three remaining home games, including West Virginia on November 7 and TCU on November 26.
