Written by KAYLA WILLIAMS · Filed October 8, 2026

Texas Tech cornerback Brice Pollock has added another national award after helping the Red Raiders stay unbeaten.
The senior was named Thorpe Award National Defensive Back of the Week on Tuesday following his 2 interceptions in Saturday’s 29 to 7 victory at Colorado. He also received Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week recognition and a national defensive honor from the Shriners Children’s bowl organization.
Pollock’s interceptions helped Tech reverse a 7 to 3 halftime deficit. The defense forced 4 turnovers after halftime and kept Colorado scoreless following its opening touchdown drive. Tech has finished 2 consecutive games without allowing a second half point.
Pollock has 8 career interceptions, tied for 3rd among active Football Bowl Subdivision players.
The Red Raiders are 5 and 0 during this week’s open date. Their next game is October 17 against Arizona State in Lubbock, with kickoff scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
