WHAT COMES AFTER GRADUATION? SOUTH PLAINS STUDENTS CAN EXPLORE THEIR OPTIONS TUESDAY

For a high school student, deciding what comes after graduation can feel overwhelming. An upcoming Lubbock event will give juniors and seniors an opportunity to ask questions and explore potential careers.

The South Plains Career Youth Expo is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 13, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center, 1501 Mac Davis Lane.

Workforce Solutions South Plains said the event will allow students to interact with industry professionals, gain insights and explore career paths. Student registration is available through the organization.

For families discussing their student’s next steps, those conversations can help turn an unfamiliar occupation into something easier to understand. Students can prepare questions about training, education requirements and what a typical workday involves.

Parents and students interested in attending should contact their school counselor or Workforce Solutions South Plains for participation details.

A young person does not need every answer before graduation. Opportunities to ask questions are a useful place to start.
