2 LUBBOCK WOMEN TURNED HOME BASED IDEAS INTO GROWING BUSINESSES ROOTED IN FAMILY AND FAITH
Written by KAYLA WILLIAMS · Filed September 30, 2026

Brisai Rejino and Rebecca Tijerina both started small businesses from home before building brands that now reach customers across Lubbock. Rejino owns Wild Honey Hats, while Tijerina owns Cakin It With Mrs. T. Rejino said the early cost of renting space felt risky while raising a family, but she decided she would rather try than always wonder what could have happened. Tijerina said she held onto her idea for years before bringing it to life. Both women credit faith and family support for helping them continue through fear and difficult days. Tijerina also wants her business to become a place where children from east Lubbock can learn cake decorating, confidence and practical business skills. Their stories show how many local businesses begin quietly at a kitchen table or inside a spare room long before the public sees a storefront or finished product.
