38 YEAR OLD DRIVER ARRESTED AFTER 21 YEAR OLD SERIOUSLY INJURED IN WEST LUBBOCK CRASH
LUBBOCK, Texas: A 38 year old man was arrested after an early Saturday morning crash at 4th Street and West Loop 289 left another driver seriously injured.
Lubbock police responded to the intersection around 12:15 am following a report of a collision involving injuries. Investigators said a pickup driven by Mark Garcia, 38, collided inside the intersection with another pickup driven by David Raymer, 21.
Raymer suffered serious injuries and was transported by EMS to Covenant Medical Center for treatment. No additional update on his condition had been publicly released as of Sunday.
Garcia suffered minor injuries. Police arrested him on allegations of intoxication assault and resisting search before booking him into the Lubbock County Jail.
The initial information released by police did not identify which direction either pickup was traveling, which driver had the right of way or what evidence led officers to suspect intoxication. Police also did not release additional details surrounding the resisting search allegation.
An arrest is not a finding of guilt. Garcia is presumed innocent unless proven guilty through the court process.
