8 BALL BABY WAS NO. 20. NOW HE IS OPENING FOR SOME OF RAP’S BIGGEST NAMES

When The806er ranked 8 Ball Baby at No. 20 on its Top 20 artists list, the placement captured one moment in his journey. It did not define his ceiling.

Since making the list, the West Texas rapper has opened for SleazyWorld Go, Jhonnie Damn D and Mack K. Each opportunity has placed him in front of larger crowds while strengthening his name in the regional music scene.

His music is also beginning to catch up with his growing performance résumé. On June 28, 8 Ball Baby officially released “Shooting In The Gym,” a 3 minute and 29 second single released through Heavy Hustle.

The title fits his current chapter. While more people are beginning to see the results, 8 Ball Baby has been working behind the scenes and waiting for his opportunity.

He has also previewed songs titled “Big Facts,” “Understand” and “Hope You Don’t Forget.” The new music is expected to be connected to his upcoming mixtape, “Unfinished Business.”

8 Ball Baby previously appeared with zDnK on “NOW IM ON” and “Texas Mayne,” giving listeners another look at his ability to collaborate while representing Texas.

“I’m a 90s baby straight outta Texas with a new wave,” he wrote when introducing himself online. In another post, he explained his approach simply: “I don’t write. I just say what I feel.”

That honesty, along with his growing stage experience, is helping 8 Ball Baby move beyond the final position on a list.

No. 20 was never the finish line. It may have only been the introduction.
