A FREE KYIV ORCHESTRA AND CHORUS CONCERT COMES TO LUBBOCK SUNDAY NIGHT

The Kyiv Symphony Orchestra and Chorus will perform Sunday, October 4, at 7 p.m. at LakeRidge Methodist Church, 4701 82nd Street. Admission is free, and no tickets are required. An offering will be collected during the concert. The program combines sacred classical music with Ukrainian folk selections. The visiting ensemble consists of women because wartime restrictions prevent male musicians from traveling abroad for the tour. This is the ensemble’s 14th United States tour and its second American tour since Russia’s full scale invasion of Ukraine. The current tour began September 10 and continues through October 12. The musicians are associated with a ministry helping widows, pensioners, wounded soldiers and displaced families in Kyiv. The concert brings that tradition to Lubbock.
