Amarillo Burglary Search Follows $10,000 Loss

A late night break in at an Amarillo convenience store has investigators asking the public for help identifying a man seen on surveillance video. Authorities say about $10,000 in merchandise was taken from the Toot’n Totum at 1627 North Grand Street.

Officers responded to an alarm just before midnight October 6. Investigators said the store showed signs of forced entry, and video captured a man using a rock to break through the front door.

The footage showed the man leaving south through an alley after the burglary. The appeal released this week asks anyone who recognizes him or knows something about the incident to contact Amarillo Crime Stoppers.

Tips can be submitted by calling 806 374 4400. Information leading to an arrest could qualify for a reward of up to $1,000. The reward depends on the information helping investigators make an arrest.

The appeal did not announce an arrest or identify the man. The case remains an active request for information about the October 6 burglary.
