Blue October Brings All of Foiled to Lubbock Tonight

Blue October is scheduled to perform at Buddy Holly Hall tonight, October 23, marking 20 years since the release of “Foiled,” the album that brought the band a much wider audience.

The live show starts at 8 p.m. The band plans to perform the entire album, then return for a second set of other songs. Longtime listeners can hear the record as a complete sequence, including its best known singles.

“Foiled” went platinum in 2007. Its songs “Hate Me” and “Into the Ocean” also reached platinum status, helping establish the band’s place in alternative rock.

Singer Justin Furstenfeld has described making the album as a personal process shaped by depression, substance use and heartbreak. He also pointed to musical influences that crossed several styles.

Tonight’s stop brings that anniversary tour to a venue named for Lubbock musician Buddy Holly.

The scheduled performance is at Buddy Holly Hall, with ticket information through the venue. Check availability with the venue before heading out.
