CORONADO STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO EARN A DIPLOMA, INDUSTRY CREDENTIALS AND EVEN AN ASSOCIATE DEGREE AT NO COST TO FAMILIES
Written by KAYLA WILLIAMS · Filed September 29, 2026

Lubbock ISD has approved a Pathways in Technology Early College High School program at Coronado with South Plains College, Texas Tech and local employers CoNetrix, City Bank and Tyler Technologies. Students can begin career preparation in ninth grade and pursue industry certifications, Level 1 or Level 2 certificates or an associate degree alongside a diploma. The program focuses on science, technology, engineering, math, computer science and health care, with workplace learning and mentoring in every grade. Leaders will present the partnerships at 1 p.m. Thursday at Coronado. The model connects early college credit to a credential, a local employer and a defined path after graduation without tuition costs for families.
