FREE MEALS FOR THE FIRST 1,000 AT LUBBOCK’S BURGERS AND BADGES

Lubbock’s Burgers and Badges event is scheduled for Tuesday, October 6, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Clapp Park. Free meals are advertised for the first 1,000 people.

The Lubbock Police Department is hosting the gathering for its 5th year. The announced activities include first responder vehicles, free music and an opening of Safety City.

Clapp Park is at 46th Street and Avenue U and houses the Lubbock Memorial Arboretum. Hodges Community Center is also in the park.

Organizers say well behaved dogs are welcome when kept on a leash. Families bringing a pet should follow that condition during the gathering.

The meal offer has a stated limit. Anyone arranging dinner around the event should account for the first 1,000 condition, since the announcement does not promise food for every arrival.

The gathering is scheduled to last 3 hours.
