FROM THE MIC TO THE MAYOR: LIL PRINCE SITS DOWN WITH COLE STANLEY TO TALK MUSIC, COMMUNITY AND AMARILLO’S FUTURE

AMARILLO, Texas — Amarillo rapper Lil Prince recently sat down with Mayor Cole Stanley for a wide ranging conversation about music, influence, community and the future of the city they both represent.

“This wasn’t just a sit down,” Lil Prince said. “It was a conversation about purpose, influence, music, community and the future of Amarillo.”

At the center of the meeting was “Pray 4 Amarillo,” Lil Prince’s latest single and a record created with a larger message for his hometown. The two discussed the meaning behind the song and how people with public platforms can use their influence to build relationships, encourage unity and make a positive difference.

The meeting also gave Lil Prince an opportunity to show that his purpose extends beyond making music. After spending years building his name within Amarillo’s hip hop community, he wants his voice to reach beyond stages, speakers and streaming platforms.

“I don’t believe I was given a voice just to be heard,” Lil Prince said. “This is bigger than music. Bigger than a moment. It’s about people, purpose, unity and Amarillo.”

The conversation placed Amarillo hip hop inside a broader civic discussion. Local artists do more than entertain. Their music can document life inside neighborhoods, influence younger generations and shape how a city understands its own culture. By sitting down together, Lil Prince and Stanley connected two different forms of community leadership.

Lil Prince also spoke openly about his personal journey, his faith and the experiences that helped shape the man and artist he has become.

“I know I’m not perfect, but God isn’t done with me,” he said. “I have a testimony and have had to go through what I’ve been through to become great.”

While the meeting focused partly on “Pray 4 Amarillo,” its larger message was about responsibility. Whether someone holds elected office, creates music or simply has the attention of people in their community, influence carries an opportunity to help others.

Lil Prince encouraged residents to speak life into one another, build stronger relationships and use whatever platform they have to make Amarillo better.

For Lil Prince, the meeting was not only a career moment. It was another step toward turning the message behind his music into a larger community mission.
