HE ASKED FOR A MOM AND DAD FOR HIS WEDDING. THE8OGER READERS STARTED BUILDING HIM A WHOLE FAMILY

“I WANT FAMILY”: LUBBOCK GROOM’S WEDDING WISH BRINGS A COMMUNITY TOGETHER 🥹💍

As Michael Wein prepares to marry Paige Miller, he shared a wish for their wedding day that touched people across The806er’s community.

“Can i adopt like a mom and dad for my wedding,” he asked. “I never had neither and my GMA and uncle passed away.”

He ended his message with three words: “I want family.”

There is a tenderness in wanting someone beside you for a happy moment. Someone to straighten your collar, tell you they are proud of you and cheer as you begin a new chapter. Michael’s request gave people a chance to offer that kind of love.

When The806er shared his words, readers began making room for him.

“I’ll be your stand in mom,” Amy Brown Moore wrote.

Grace Ramirez offered another place in the family: “Let’s be family! I have no sisters so I can be the older sister!!”

Soon, the aunties, uncles and cousins were checking in.

“I’ll pull up and be Unk,” Hugo Juice Castillo commented.

“Tia Ash reporting for duty!” Ashley Cantu added.

Others offered the things families do to help a celebration come together.

“I’ll be your cousin that does your hair,” Drea Boen wrote.

“I’ll be your sister who does your photography for everything,” Denise S. Duarte Walker offered.

Kristy L. Nombraña Silvas was ready to bring her whole household: “I have a family of 10 we’ll all go. We can even cook some.good Mexican food.”

And the replies came with the familiar laughter of a family gathering.

TowMan Mexico volunteered to be “the drunk Primo,” while Gracie Gomez promised to keep everyone in line.

“I can be the Abuela & bring my chancla in case a drunk tio or the drunk primo above act up,” she wrote. 🩴😂

A request that began with someone missing family became a conversation full of people offering to be his.

Now, Michael and Paige have an invitation to share.

Their Halloween wedding party is scheduled for October 17, 2026, from 6:30 PM to 11 PM at 4321 Woodrow Road, #27, in Lubbock. The invitation says “Open Invite,” with costumes encouraged and BYOB.

Their separate wedding invitation lists a ceremony and reception on October 23, 2026, at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas.

The celebrations are still ahead, but the welcome has already begun. Through one shared message, people found someone they could encourage, help and include.

Michael put a vulnerable wish into words. His community met it with names, laughter, offers of help and room in the family. ❤️
