LCU GOLFER MATCHED HIS CAREER BEST AS CHAPS POSTED THEIR BEST TOURNAMENT TOTAL IN A YEAR

Lubbock Christian golfer Leyton Hiebert matched his best collegiate round Tuesday, shooting a 69 as the Chaparrals finished 9th at The Hrnciar in Duncan, Oklahoma.

Hiebert’s final round was 3 strokes under par at The Territory Golf and Country Club. LCU finished the 54 hole tournament at 868, or 4 strokes over par.

The Chaps opened with matching rounds of 287 Monday before recording a 294 in Tuesday’s final round. Their combined score was the program’s best over 54 holes since September 23, 2025.

That earlier tournament produced LCU’s school record of 844 at the San Juan Intercollegiate in Montrose, Colorado. This week’s total was 24 strokes above that mark.

LCU’s finish combined Hiebert’s career matching round with the team’s best tournament total in more than a year. The Chaps placed 9th, closing the event with Hiebert’s 69 on Tuesday.
