Lubbock County Offers Free Alerts For Property Records
Written by KAYLA WILLIAMS · Filed October 8, 2026

Lubbock County residents can receive a free email alert when a document is recorded under their name, giving property owners a way to spot a filing they did not authorize.
The county clerk’s Fraud Notify service monitors documents by name. Residents can enroll with an email address and include maiden names, nicknames or other names that could appear in a filing. An address is not required, and enrollment generates a confirmation email.
County Clerk Kelly Pinion said she was not aware of a local case of someone fraudulently taking a home this way, but wanted to offer an early warning.
A notice does not establish fraud, stop a filing or automatically remove a recorded document. Pinion said disputed filings may require legal help and a court process.
The office also now requests photo identification from people filing documents, retaining it to assist an investigation if needed.
