LUBBOCK ISD IS OPENING ITS DOORS TO PARENTS AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS WHO WANT TO SEE HOW THE DISTRICT REALLY WORKS
Lubbock ISD is accepting applications for its 2026 to 2027 Community Leadership Academy, a program designed to give parents and other community members a closer look at how the district operates.
Participants will get opportunities to tour district facilities, meet students and teachers and learn more about how decisions are made across Lubbock ISD. The academy also gives members a chance to provide feedback directly to district leaders, teachers and administrators.
The program could be especially useful for residents who have questions about what happens beyond school board meetings and social media posts. Instead of only hearing about district operations from the outside, selected participants will be able to see campuses and programs firsthand while learning more about the challenges and priorities facing local schools.
Lubbock ISD says meeting dates, topics and the application are available through its Community Leadership Academy page. The district is encouraging interested residents to apply soon because available spots typically fill quickly.
The academy is open to district parents as well as community members interested in learning more about public education in Lubbock.
