LUBBOCK’S DOGS GET THEIR DAY AS BARK AND BREW BRINGS FAMILIES TOGETHER SUNDAY

Lubbock families can spend Sunday afternoon with their dogs while learning about organizations serving children and people with vision impairments.

The Lions Clubs of District 2 T2 will host Bark and Brew on Oct. 11 from noon to 5 p.m. at The Range, 3116 122nd St.

Organizers listed dog races, a costume parade, pet adoptions, vendors and food trucks among the activities. Contests will recognize the cutest dog, most unique dog and dog costumes. The schedule also includes races for dogs with disabilities, including dogs using rolling carts.

The event will raise awareness of Texas Lions Camp, Leader Dogs for the Blind and World Services for the Blind, giving the afternoon a purpose beyond the costumes and competition.

For local families, it offers a chance to enjoy time together, meet fellow dog lovers and learn about service organizations working to make a difference.

Know someone whose dog belongs in a costume contest? Share this with them before Sunday.
