TEXAS SHOPPERS TOLD TO CHECK RECALLED BREAD

Lubbock families checking groceries should inspect certain packages of Nature’s Own Hawaiian Bread included in a recall affecting Texas.

Flowers Foods recalled 20 ounce single loaves and 40 ounce packages containing 2 loaves because some labels failed to declare milk. People with a milk allergy or severe sensitivity could have an allergic reaction if they eat the affected bread.

The products went to retail customers in Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico and Oklahoma. The notice does not identify individual Lubbock stores.

The single loaf’s UPC is 0 72250 91662 2. The package containing 2 loaves has UPC 0 72250 00683 5. Listed dates for the affected single loaves run from October 8 through October 18, with specific production codes also used to identify them.

The company discovered the labeling issue while reviewing production records. No related illnesses or incidents had been reported when the notice was issued.

Affected bread should be discarded or returned to the store for a refund.
