TEXAS TECH NeW BRINGS CAMPUS CONSERVATIVES AND LUBBOCK YOUNG REPUBLICANS TOGETHER
LUBBOCK, Texas — The Texas Tech chapter of the Network of enlightened Women, commonly known as NeW, hosted its Conservative Connections social on September 14, bringing together conservative students and members of the broader Lubbock political community.
According to information provided to The806er, the social was organized under the leadership of the chapter’s new president, Isabella Norman. Norman invited members of the Lubbock Young Republicans, including organization leader Kevin Allen, to attend and connect with students involved in conservative organizations at Texas Tech.
The Texas Tech chapter promoted Conservative Connections as an evening focused on networking, conversation and meeting other conservatives from across the university. Photos shared with The806er show representatives from the student organization and the Lubbock Young Republicans attending the gathering.
The event created an opportunity for students to connect with people already participating in local Republican politics outside the university. It also gave members of the Lubbock Young Republicans an opportunity to meet a new generation of politically involved Texas Tech students and learn more about the organizations active on campus.
NeW is a national organization that says its mission is to educate, equip and empower women to become principled leaders. Its campus chapters organize discussions, debates, speakers, leadership training and professional development opportunities for conservative women and other students interested in public policy, culture and civic involvement.
Norman brings additional campus and government experience to her new leadership position. Texas Tech lists her as an associate justice on the university’s Student Government Association Supreme Court. University records also show that she participated in Texas Tech’s Government and Public Service Internship Program in fall 2025, serving in the office of Congressman Chip Roy.
The involvement of the Lubbock Young Republicans allowed the social to extend beyond the Texas Tech campus and connect students with a local political organization. The group’s public page identifies Allen as its chairman, although information initially provided to The806er referred to him as president.
No candidate endorsements, campaign announcements or fundraising activities were identified in the event information reviewed by The806er. The gathering was presented primarily as a networking and relationship building event for conservatives on campus and throughout the Lubbock community.
The Conservative Connections social represents one way student led political organizations are creating opportunities for young adults to meet local leaders, exchange ideas and become more involved in civic and political life.
