THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL OPENS A BUSY WEEK 4 ACROSS THE 806

Several South Plains teams move their Week 4 games to Thursday night, giving local fans a full slate before Friday’s schedule. Lubbock Cooper travels to Canyon, Brownfield visits Tulia, Tahoka plays at Floydada, Hale Center travels to Smyer and Wellington visits Trinity Christian. Petersburg plays at O’Donnell, Aspermont visits Guthrie and Lorenzo travels to Southland, with those 3 games scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Most of the other matchups begin at 7 p.m. Fans traveling north or east should allow extra time and check school channels for any weather or schedule changes. The early games also give coaches and players a shorter preparation week, making first quarter execution and ball security especially important. Road teams should expect warm kickoff conditions.
