COURT DISMISSED MEURER’S PRECINCT 2 APPEAL AND ORDERED HIM TO PAY COURT COSTS
Written by KAYLA WILLIAMS · Filed October 7, 2026

The appeal in Lubbock County’s Precinct 2 commissioner dispute has ended with an order dismissing Mark Meurer’s challenge and assessing court costs against him.
The Seventh Court of Appeals granted Meurer’s agreed request for voluntary dismissal September 30. The order was filed October 1 in Lubbock County’s 237th District Court.
The court did not decide the underlying arguments about the seat. It ordered its mandate issued immediately and said it would not consider rehearing.
Meurer announced in September that he would withdraw the appeal and return salary received while Jason Corley occupied the position.
The dismissal is separate from the investigation into those payments. It does not establish that repayment has been completed or resolve questions about the county’s handling of the money.
