FRENSHIP GETS LIBERTY AFTER JAMES ORDONEZ ANNOUNCED HIMSELF TO THE 806 IN WEEK 1

FRENSHIP GETS LIBERTY AFTER JAMES ORDONEZ ANNOUNCED HIMSELF TO THE 806 IN WEEK 1

Frenship could not have asked for a much louder opening statement.

The Tigers walked into Lubbock Cooper and left with a 50 to 17 victory behind a huge varsity starting debut from junior quarterback James Ordonez.

Ordonez completed 17 of 21 passes for 290 yards and five touchdowns as Frenship turned one of the area’s most anticipated Week 1 matchups into a convincing win.

Now comes another test.

Lubbock Cooper Liberty visits Peoples Bank Stadium Friday night after opening its season with a 49 to 14 victory over Frenship Memorial.

That means Friday brings together two teams that combined to score 99 points in their opening games.

For Frenship, the biggest question is whether the offense can maintain the same efficiency against a Liberty team entering with confidence and high expectations of its own.

Liberty will almost certainly make slowing Ordonez its first priority.

That is easier said than done after what Frenship showed last week.

WHAT TO WATCH

Can Liberty disrupt James Ordonez before Frenship’s passing game gets rolling?

If Frenship starts fast again, Liberty could be forced into exactly the type of high scoring game the Tigers appear built to win.
