Halloween Shopping Helps Hospitalized Children
Written by THE806ER STAFF-KW · Filed October 22, 2026

A Halloween costume purchase can support children spending time in a Lubbock hospital. Covenant Children’s and Spirit Halloween are continuing a fundraising partnership that has brought nearly $375,000 to the hospital over 17 years.
The Spirit of Children effort supports services that help young patients cope with treatment and unfamiliar surroundings. This year’s donations will provide bedside play activities, sensory tools, comfort items, music therapy and creative arts experiences.
Past support helped add a child life specialist for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, expand the artists in residence program and stock and update Lindsay’s Playroom.
Staff use these resources to help a child cope with hospital care, including therapeutic play and support while adjusting to a diagnosis.
Shoppers can take part using the fundraiser’s special coupon at Lubbock Spirit Halloween stores. The partnership connects Halloween shopping with resources hospital teams use throughout a child’s stay.
