OCTOBER 5 IS THE LAST DAY TO REGISTER FOR TEXAS’ NOVEMBER ELECTION
Written by KAYLA WILLIAMS · Filed October 5, 2026

Monday, October 5, is the registration deadline for Texans who want to vote in the November 3 general election, including eligible residents across Lubbock and the South Plains.
A mailed application must be postmarked by October 5. Filling out an application on a screen does not finish a first time registration; it must be signed and submitted to the county voter registrar.
People mailing an application can request a manual postmark at a postal retail counter to make sure the mailing date is recorded. Anyone who recently moved should also check whether their registration information needs updating.
Applicants must be U.S. citizens, residents of the county where they register and at least 18 by Election Day, along with meeting the other eligibility requirements.
Early voting runs October 19 through October 30. Registration is the step due Monday; early voting has not started yet.
