SOME LUBBOCK MEDICARE RECIPIENTS QUALIFY FOR A $90 REBATE, BUT NOT EVERYONE IS ELIGIBLE
Written by KAYLA WILLIAMS · Filed October 9, 2026

Some Lubbock Medicare recipients are eligible for a $90 payment this month, but the rebate does not apply to everyone with Medicare coverage.
The payment is intended to help offset October’s Part B premium. It is a single rebate, not a monthly increase in Social Security benefits.
Eligible recipients are in Original Medicare Part B and live in the United States. Medicare Advantage members do not qualify. Beneficiaries receiving Medicaid premium assistance or paying an additional Part B premium because of higher income are also excluded.
Most eligible recipients were expected to receive a direct deposit around October 8. Those without direct deposit will receive a Treasury check at the mailing address Medicare has on file later in October.
Residents can check eligibility by calling (800) 633 4227. Questions about payment status can be directed to Social Security at (800) 772 1213 beginning October 15.
For families helping a parent or grandparent review their account, the important distinction is the person’s coverage and premium assistance status. Having a Medicare card alone does not establish eligibility for this particular payment.
