Texas November Ballot Is Taking Shape With Paxton Facing Talarico For Senate And Abbott Seeking A Fourth Term
Texas voters are officially moving into the final stretch of the 2026 midterm election cycle. The November 3 ballot includes major statewide races, congressional contests, legislative seats and judicial races. One of the biggest matchups is the United States Senate race between Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton and Democratic state Representative James Talarico. Governor Greg Abbott is also seeking a fourth term. For voters across Lubbock and West Texas, the calendar now matters as much as the campaign ads. The last day to register to vote is October 5, while in person early voting runs from October 19 through October 30. County election offices will determine the final order of names on local ballots. Voters should also expect local races and district specific contests to appear alongside the statewide offices.
