Texas Tech Enters Homecoming Week In The Top 10
Written by KAYLA WILLIAMS · Filed October 12, 2026

Texas Tech will begin Homecoming week ranked No. 10 in the national media poll and No. 9 in the coaches poll, putting the Red Raiders inside the top 10 of both rankings for the first time this season.
The rankings were released Sunday after Tech’s open week. The Red Raiders remained 5 and 0 overall and 2 and 0 in Big 12 play, with Arizona State next on the schedule.
Saturday’s Homecoming game is set for 2:30 p.m. at Galaxy Stadium. The matchup brings together the winners of the past 2 Big 12 championships, and the university reported that the game is sold out.
Tech has now appeared in the rankings for 24 consecutive weeks, the longest run in program history. The Red Raiders also started 5 and 0 for a second consecutive season, joining BYU, Indiana and Miami among the 4 programs to accomplish that this year.
BYU remained the conference’s highest ranked team at No. 8, with Utah at No. 11. The weekly rankings provide a snapshot of the season and do not determine the final playoff field.
