Written by KAYLA WILLIAMS · Filed October 9, 2026

Texas Tech football is off Saturday, October 10, but the Red Raiders already know when they will return to the field.
Tech hosts Arizona State at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, October 17, in a Homecoming game televised on FOX. The matchup has already sold out, continuing a run of 11 consecutive home sellouts dating to last season.
The Red Raiders enter their open weekend with a record of 5 wins and 0 losses, including 2 conference wins. Their most recent victory came October 3, when they beat Colorado 29 to 7 in Boulder.
The next opponent brings some history. Arizona State handed Tech its only regular season loss last year, ending the Red Raiders’ unbeaten start. The schools have split their 6 previous meetings.
Tech also carries an 11 game home winning streak into the matchup, its longest since the stretch spanning the 2007 through 2009 seasons. The Red Raiders won both previous home meetings with Arizona State, in 2017 and 2024.
For Lubbock fans setting their calendars, the date to circle is October 17. There is no Texas Tech football game this Saturday.
