TEXAS TECH TAKES AN UNBEATEN RECORD TO COLORADO WITH A COACHING MILESTONE IN REACH

No. 12 Texas Tech visits Colorado tonight at 6:30 p.m. Central on FOX, carrying a 4 and 0 record into its first Big 12 road game of the season. The Red Raiders are 1 and 0 in conference play. Colorado enters at 2 and 2 overall and 0 and 1 in the league. A win would give Joey McGuire his 40th victory at Tech in his 58th game. That would be the fastest a coach has reached 40 wins in school history, ahead of Pete Cawthon’s 60 games. Boulder has been a difficult stop for Tech. The Red Raiders are 1 and 4 there, with their lone victory coming in 2010. Colorado won the teams’ most recent meeting, 41 to 27 in 2024. Tech is coming off a 49 to 14 win over Sam Houston. Its defense produced three interceptions in that game, including two returned for touchdowns by Austin Romaine. After tonight, the Red Raiders have an open date before hosting Arizona State on October 17. Help support independent local coverage by liking, commenting and sharing The806er.
