THE806ER LAUNCHES “VOTE OR SHUT UP” VOTER REGISTRATION DRIVE AHEAD OF NOVEMBER ELECTION

LUBBOCK, Texas — The806er has launched a new nonpartisan voter registration drive called “Vote or Shut Up” to help West Texas residents prepare for the November 3, 2026 General Election.

The blunt campaign name is meant to remind residents that participating begins before Election Day. The initiative will focus on registration deadlines, early voting dates, identification requirements and other information voters need before arriving at the polls.

The deadline to register or update a name or address is Monday, October 5. Texas applications must be signed and personally delivered or postmarked by that date. Lubbock County residents can register at the Lubbock County Elections Office at 1308 Crickets Avenue during regular business hours.

Early voting will run from October 19 through October 30. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, with polls open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Voters should bring an approved form of photo identification, although a voter registration card is not required.

The806er’s drive is not connected to a political party, candidate or endorsement. The purpose is to make verified election information easier to understand and encourage residents to become informed participants in decisions affecting their schools, neighborhoods, taxes and local government.

The message behind “Vote or Shut Up” is simple: The806er does not care who residents vote for, but anyone who wants a voice in what happens next should make sure they are registered and prepared to use it.
