An 18 year old woman was arrested after an Amarillo crash killed a 16 year old girl and injured other passengers.
Arissa Adams faces intoxication manslaughter and 2 counts of intoxication assault causing serious bodily injury. Her bond was set at $900,000.
Officers responded near Port Lane and Wolflin Avenue around 10:30 p.m. October 21. Investigators said the vehicle appeared to lose control during a turn before leaving the road and striking a light pole and a tree.
The report says 3 of the 4 occupants were thrown from the car. All 4 were taken to a hospital, where the teenage passenger died. Another passenger suffered a broken ankle, and another suffered a spinal injury.
Officers reported finding open alcohol containers. They said passenger statements and store video helped identify Adams as the driver after she initially said somebody else had been driving.
Adams was booked after receiving medical clearance. The charges are allegations, and a conviction has not been established.
