Lubbock’s $5,000 Grant Deadline Is October 20
Written by KAYLA WILLIAMS · Filed October 15, 2026

Lubbock small business owners have until October 20 to apply for a program that will award $5,000 each to 25 selected businesses.
The Lifting Up Small Business Grants program brings $125,000 in support through Optimum Business and the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce. The chamber describes the grants as money to help businesses develop technology.
Applicants must have a physical business location in a community served by Optimum and employ no more than 25 people. They must agree to a background check and participate in promotional materials for the program.
An application must explain how the money would advance the company and benefit the community it serves. Applying does not guarantee a grant, and awards are limited to the businesses selected.
Applications opened September 22. The deadline leaves owners less than a week to gather information and outline plans. Winners are expected to be announced this winter.
For application details and requirements, contact the chamber at (806) 761 7000.
