RALLS ISSUES CITYWIDE BOIL WATER NOTICE AFTER WATER MAIN BREAK

The City of Ralls has issued a citywide boil water notice after a main break interrupted service. Officials had not provided an estimated restoration time when the notice was announced. Once water service returns, customers should continue following the boil notice until the city confirms that testing is complete and formally lifts it. A return of pressure does not by itself mean the water has been cleared for normal use. Main breaks can lower pressure enough to create a possible path for contaminants, which is why testing is required before an all clear. Residents should watch official city updates for instructions, while restaurants, schools, medical facilities and households make temporary plans for drinking, cooking and other uses that require safe water.
