RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE SOUTHWEST HAS A NEW NAME AND HELP FOR HOSPITAL FAMILIES

The Lubbock nonprofit that helps families stay close to hospitalized children is now using the name Ronald McDonald House Southwest.

The organization dropped “Charities” from its name as part of a wider rebranding. Its local work includes lodging and family spaces for parents and siblings while a child receives medical care.

The Lubbock house offers private guest rooms, meals and laundry facilities. Family room services also operate at Covenant Children’s Hospital and University Medical Center.

Families seeking a referral can speak with their child’s hospital social worker or call the organization at (806) 744 8877. Its Lubbock house and administrative offices are at 3413 10th Street.

The nonprofit is also seeking volunteers and supporters. Its work continues to center on keeping families close during a child’s illness or injury.
