Texas Tech takes an unbeaten record to Cincinnati today, with kickoff scheduled for 11 a.m. Central on FS1.
No. 8 Tech enters with 6 wins, no losses and a 3 and 0 Big 12 record. Cincinnati is 4 and 2 overall and 1 and 2 in conference play. The game marks Tech’s first visit to Nippert Stadium.
A victory would give the Red Raiders their first 7 and 0 start since 2013 and the fifth such start in program history. Tech also brings a streak of 4 road victories into the matchup.
The Red Raiders beat Arizona State 53 to 25 last weekend. Their defense has forced 12 turnovers this season and converted 4 into touchdowns, giving Cincinnati another challenge beyond stopping Tech’s offense.
Tech started consecutive seasons with 6 wins and no defeats for the first time. The team is also appearing in the Associated Press rankings for a program record 25th consecutive week.
For Lubbock fans, this is a morning road game. Tech’s next home date is October 31 against Arizona, with another 11 a.m. kickoff scheduled.
