TWO 18 YEAR OLD FEEYARD WORKERS WERE FOUND DEAD IN A RAIN FILLED PARMER COUNTY POND

Parmer County deputies and Texas Game Wardens are investigating after two 18 year old employees were found dead in a runoff pond at a feedyard. Search teams used two specialized boats and sonar before recovering both bodies Sunday evening. Preliminary information indicates the men died Saturday. The sheriff said the pond is normally dry but filled after recent rainfall. Officials have not released the workers’ names, a cause of death or an account of how they entered the pond. Friona police, Friona firefighters and volunteers assisted the search. The investigation remains active, and authorities said additional information is being withheld out of respect for the families.
