LUBBOCK WILL LET PEOPLE RESOLVE OLD TICKETS WITHOUT BEING ARRESTED WHEN THEY VOLUNTARILY APPEAR

Lubbock Municipal Court will open a temporary case resolution campaign Thursday for people with unpaid Class C misdemeanor citations or warrants, including traffic tickets. Walk ins will be accepted from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays from October 1 through October 16 at 1214 14th Street. The court says anyone who voluntarily appears during the campaign will not be arrested for the covered municipal cases. Failure to appear charges will be waived, and no appointment is required. People should bring a driver license or identification card. Those who cannot pay in full may speak with a judge about a payment plan, community service or possible credit for time already spent in jail. Spanish speaking interpreters will be available. The program applies only to cases filed in Lubbock Municipal Court. Questions can be directed to (806) 775 2473.
